When women don't agree with you, insult them

Two editorials today in the WashPost. Both written by women, both insulting women. I don't get it.

One is about Obamamania. True, i am bewildered by the fainting spells, the frenzy reminiscent of Beatle-mania. I am for Obama. I think he has integrity subtance, intelligence, in addition to the eloquence and inspiration.

The frenzy and enthusiasm has been awakened in a populace starved for something to believe in, glutted on cynicism since birth. God, are we in for some disappointment eventually. No one can live up to this. But Obama has something all of them have lacked since Bobby Kennedy. And that's been a long long time.

Still, like this author points out, it's embarrassing to see the women swooning. Let's not lose our heads entirely.

But she takes the opportunity to bash women completely. Women are bad drivers. It's proven. Women love bad chick lit. We're just addled.

"Even with all the special mentoring and role-modeling the 21st century can provide, the number of women in these fields (judges, brain surgeons, fighter pilots, tax accountants) will always lag behind the number of men, for good reasons."

So we should "revel" in our nest-building. Gag.

IMO, she's also saying we should accept inferiority, stupidity, and RELIANCE ON MEN FOR OUR ECONOMIC SUBSISTENCE AND EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING.
